Moongel is a translucent blue, sticky, gel-like substance produced by the drum practice products company RTOM. It has been incorporated into several products and come in packs of four or six which can applied to a drumhead or cymbal to diminish the higher overtones.
What does Moongel do?
Moongel is a non-toxic self-adhesive gel that sticks to drum heads, cymbals, and most percussion equipment, giving you a flexible dampening solution for your drum gear. Move the Moongel around the drum head and cymbal until you find and impede the offending frequencies.
Can you put Moongel on cymbals?

Rub/smush them moongels under the warmest water that you can safely tolerate. Just water this time. You can re-soak them in soap if you want, but the last step before drying must always be simple green!
