What is leak detection pump Jeep Grand Cherokee?
What is leak detection pump Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Dorman – Fuel Leak Detection Pump (Part No. Engineered from high-quality plastic for a long-lasting service life, Dorman’s Fuel Vapor Leak Detection Pump ascertains leaks or related problems in the fuel system.
How does a jeep leak detection pump work?
It pumps air into the EVAP system to develop a pressure of about 7.5′ H20(1/4) psi. A reed switch in the LDP allows the PCM to monitor the position of the LDP diaphragm. The PCM uses the reed switch input to monitor how fast the LDP is pumping air into the EVAP system. This allows detection of leaks and blockage.
What does the leak detection pump do?
This system works by pumping pressurized air into the EVAP system to test it for leaks. The pump has a series of one-way valves and a vent valve, a sensor at the top, vacuum solenoid and a spring-loaded diaphragm. It uses an engine vacuum to move the diaphragm up and down.
Where is the fuel vapor leak detection pump?
The leak detection pump, also known as the EVAP system integrity module (ESIM), is Mopar Part No. 4861962AB for your car. The ESIM is an emissions control device and is typically mounted on the vapor canister in the rear of the car or very near to the canister.
Where is the ESIM located?
On most Chryslers, the ESIM mounts directly to the canister, eliminating the need for a mounting bracket. The ESIM must be mounted vertically. On vehicles where the canister is mounted on an angle, the ESIM requires an adaptor to maintain a vertical position.
What is the code for leak detection pump?
The P2401 trouble code is telling us the EVAP control circuit has had a fault with the leak detection pump. The leak detection pump is used by the ECM to pressurize the EVAP system to check for leaks that are present. When the ECM has detected the the circuit has low voltage it will trigger a P2401 code.
