What is Canon LTM?
What is Canon LTM?
The vintage Canon LTM lenses date back from the 1950s where the cameras they were designed for had the LTM mount. At that time many cameras used the same mount and not only Leica despite the LTM name. These means there were many lenses made with the Leica screw thread design.
What is Leica LTM?
Connectors. Telemeter coupling. True Leica Thread-Mount (LTM) is 39 mm in diameter and has a thread of 26 turns-per-inch or threads-per-inch (tpi) (approximately 0.977 mm pitch) of Whitworth thread form.
Does the Canon P have a light meter?
The P does not have an internal meter. For this, we’d need to upgrade to the Canon 7, which is a much more expensive camera even today.
Is LTM the same as M39?
The Leica Thread Mount is known as LTM, LSM (Leica Screw Mount), and L39 (Leica 39). But it really shouldn’t be called M39, since that really stands for Metric 39 threads, and the threads don’t even use standard metric pitch. So, you need an M adapter. Any will do.
Are L39 and M39 the same?
L39 = Leica 39. M39 = metric 39, that is 39mm x 1mm pitch. Both are somewhat inexact, as the major diameter of the threads is indeed 39mm, but the pitch is 26 threads per inch. Neither ‘M’ nor ‘L’ designations distinguish adequately between the 39mm lenses for rangefinders and the 39mm lenses for the FSU SLR cameras.
Is Canon P made of brass?
The P is a relatively heavy brass body. As a result, with the Jupiter 50/1.5, for example (aluminum), the camera tends to tilt back. It balances ok, with the Canon 50/1.8 (that it typically came with) and the Jupiter-9 85/2. It balances well with the Canon 50/1.5 and the Nikkor 50/1.4.
What lenses fit a Canon P?
The Canon P was designed as a less expensive alternative that had a fixed 1x viewfinder. Despite this, it still has frame lines for 35mm, 50 and 100mm lenses.
Does L39 fit on M39?
TL:DR – There are lots of different variants of the 39mm Screw Lens Mount and it can be hard to find out which mount, and adapter, is best for your needs. We’ve found that the smaller pitch lenses, like L39, will mount on the larger pitch adapters, like M39.
What is L39 lens mount?
The L39 Mount Lens 50-75mm to Leica M Camera 6-Bit Lens Mount Adapter from Metabones allows an L39 Mount 50-75mm lens to be attached to Leica M cameras. The appropriate 50-75mm rangefinder frame lines are activated by the adapter.
