A connect group is an affinity-based group that meets anywhere from one time to upwards of two months. At my church we take a break from our regular discipleship groups for eight weeks over the summer and launch a variety of connect groups.

There is no set number of members for the ideal small group. A small group requires a minimum of three people (because two people would be a pair or dyad), but the upper range of group size is contingent on the purpose of the group.
What makes a good small group leader?
Look for people who are consistently on time, willing to take ownership, and ready to serve. Some people have the potential to be great small group leaders, but they just aren’t in a season of life where they have the margin in their calendar or the relational Velcro to do it.
