Can you go to NDLS without an appointment?

You must book an appointment to attend an NDLS centre. There is no walk-in service available. Once processed your licence/permit will issue to you by post. You will need to bring ID, fee and any other supporting documentation including medical or eyesight report if required.

Can I renew my Irish licence online?

You can renew your driver licence online if you have a Public Services Card and a MyGovID verified account – see ‘How to apply’ below. Alternatively you can visit an NDLS centre to renew your licence.

Is there a grace period for expired drivers license Ireland?

Note that the validity period of a driving licence which was due to expire between 1 March and 30 June 2020 was extended by four months. This means that all categories that expired on your driving licence from the 1 March to 30 June 2020 were automatically extended by four months.
