I had heard of the solitary elephant here in this zoo but was shocked at the poor conditions it lives in. This is no place for an elephant, especially considering Edmonton’s weather, and the small enclosure it is in. Elk Island park is much better, you can see the bison, and sometimes bears and deer in their natural habitat.
