How do you use the Red Sea bottle dosing?
In the near future, Red Sea liquid additives in the 500mL and 1000mL bottles will come with a “dosing ready” bottle cap. All you will need to do is add the tube to your bottle’s redesigned cap and then connect it to your dosing pump for automated, easy to refill dosing system.
Where do you put a dosing pump?
Ideally the dosing pump should be mounted above the sump and dosing reservoir in an area that is not prone to splashing or spills. The dosing pump can be mounted vertically or horizontally. When affixing the tubing, take care that the tubing is inserted all the way over the connector until it can go no further.
How does dosing pump work?
A dosing pump draws a measured amount of liquid into its chamber and injects the chemical into a tank or pipe that contains the fluid that is being dosed. It’s powered by an electric motor or an air actuator and has a controller that turns the pump on and off and manages the flow rate.

Increase the daily dosage – by continuous control of the alkalinity – weekly by 2.5 ml per 100 liters (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume, until a constant carbonate hardness of 7 to 9 °dH is reached.
What type of pump is a dosing pump?
