How soon should I expect pain relief after applying Salonpas® Pain Relief Patch? Pain relief generally occurs within one hour of application, but in some individuals pain relief may be shorter or longer. If pain recurs 8-12 hours after applying the first patch a second patch can be applied.
Can I use Salonpas overnight?
Salonpas® Pain Relief Patches are ultra-thin, flexible and stretchable, which makes them extremely discreet and allows them to be applied to the most common sites of muscular pain. Salonpas® Pain Relief Patch can be applied for up to 12 hours and is suitable for both day – and night-time use.
Can I shower after putting Salonpas?
Discontinue use at least 1 hour before a bath or shower and do not use immediately after a bath or shower.
How many Salonpas can I use at once?
How many patches can I apply at a time? For Salonpas® Pain Relief Patch LARGE, HOT, LIDOCAINE Pain Relieving Gel-Patch, and Pain Relieving Gel-Patch HOT, please use only 1 patch at a time. For Salonpas® Pain Relieving Patch, up to 6 patches can be used at a time.
Can I use Salonpas everyday?
Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same times each day. This medication may sometimes take up to 2 months to work. Tell your doctor if your condition lasts for more than 7 days, if it gets worse, or if it keeps returning.

Who Cannot use Salonpas?
Salonpas is not recommended for anyone who:
- Recently has had or is going to have heart surgery.
- Has a history of stomach bleeding.
- Has high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, or takes a diuretic (water pill)
- Is pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Is under 18.
What are the side effects to Salonpas?
Warmth, stinging, or burning on the application site may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, or throat irritation may occur if you breathe in the dried residue from the medication. Use caution to avoid inhaling the residue.
