Purpose of Retraining Program AFI 36-2626: The overall objective of the retraining program is to balance the enlisted career force across all Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs) and ensure sustainability of career fields. Retraining also provides a means to return disqualified airmen to a productive status.
Can you extend deros?
As a military member stationed overseas, you may apply for a DEROS extension to accommodate the completion of your dependent’s high school senior year. Additional options are maintaining your original DEROS and selecting a DEROS extension from one to 36 months.

Can you PCS before your deros army?
You can’t leave before your DEROS. That’s a DOD requirement for lengths of OCONUS tours. Your branch would have to request an exception to give you a curtailment to your tour.
How do you get deros curtailment?
A: The most common and easiest way to get a DEROS extension is to apply through your DEROS Option window. You should receive an email 15 months prior to your DEROS with instructions of how to elect your requested DEROS option.
Can you Palace Chase with an ADSC?
To be eligible for Palace Chase, enlisted airmen must be at least halfway through their first enlistment. Officers must be two-thirds of the way through all of their remaining Active Duty Service Commitments (ADSC).
Can you retire with an active duty service commitment?
To retire from active duty as a commissioned officer, you must have 20 years of active duty service, with at least 10 of those years of service as a commissioned officer (the Secretary of the branch of service may waive this requirement to 8 years of service as a commissioned officer).
