How long should cabinet pull screws be?
In general, the screw length(s) used should be 1/4″ longer than the thickness of your cabinet door or drawer front material. It is not uncommon for some drawers to be constructed with a 3/4″ thick front attached to a 3/4″ thick drawer box.
What to do when drawer pull screws are too short?
SCREW TOO SHORT? No problem! You can use a countersink drill bit to create a bigger hole for the screw head to fit through. If the hole already exists for the knob, choose a drill bit that is the same size as the head of the screw (or nut).
Are all drawer pull screws the same size?
There is no right or wrong size to choose, but we do recommend choosing pulls that have at least a 3-3/4″ center to center (the distance between the screw holes). This size looks pleasing on most cabinets, while still being large enough to grip comfortably. 5″ pulls are also an excellent choice.
