Is ASIFlex an HSA?
There is no 1099-SA form or other tax statement for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which is different from the Health Savings Account (HSA). FSA funds are already tax-free and not needed for tax purposes.
How does ASIFlex work?
When you apply for an ASIFlex debit card, your card is programmed with the full amount in your flexible spending account for the entire plan year. This means if your annual contribution amount is $1,000 for the plan year, your card will be programmed with $1,000 on the first day of the plan year.
Can I use my flex card for gas?
No. The Flex Card is a special-purpose Visa Card that can be used only for eligible health care/benefits expenses. It cannot be used, for instance, at gas stations or restaurants. There are no monthly bills and no interest.
Where can I use my ASIFlex card?
The ASIFlex Card can be used at health care providers that accept VISA® and certain retail merchants that inventory eligible health care products. It is not accepted at restaurants, gas stations, department stores, etc. At the point-of-sale, simply present your card for payment.
Who qualifies for the Flex card?
Flex cards are frequently offered in conjunction with health insurance coverage. To be eligible for a flex card, you must be enrolled in a health insurance plan that includes a flexible spending account. The senior flex card is usually linked to a Medicare Advantage plan.
Is there a tax form for flexible spending account?
The funds in your Medical and Dependent Care FSA are deposited pre-tax and the amount is deducted from your Annual Gross Income. This will be represented on the W-2 you receive from your Employer for tax reporting. There are no additional tax forms issued for the FSA plans.

A: The most effective method for filing a manual claim is through the secure member portal at www.MedCost.com. Log in and select Flex/HRA Claims under Quick Links. Select the File a Claim button under the Home page to enter your claim information and upload receipts.
Can you buy food with flex card?
You can use them just about anywhere and for just about anything. Grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, clothing shops, doctors’ offices, bus stations … you name it, you can probably pay with a card there.
Do you get a debit card with FSA?
You will automatically receive one debit card when you enroll in the Health Care FSA. If you need additional debit cards for your spouse or dependents, you can order extras online through www.flexiblebenefit.com.
