What is USP L1 column?
What is USP L1 column?
According to the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), L1 column packing is defined as “octadecyl silane chemically bonded to porous silica or ceramic micro-particles, 3 to 10 m in diameter.” Some USP methods specifying an L1 column use intermediate pH, and many of these methods were done on a 10 m, 3.9 x 300 mm column.
What is L85 column?
L85. A silane ligand that consists of both reversed-phase (an alkyl chain longer than C8) and weak cation-exchange (carboxyl groups) functional groups chemically bonded to porous or non-porous particles, 1.0 to 50 µm in diameter.
What is USP code?
The shortcut USP comes from United States Pharmacopeial convention. Every kind of material or phase has a USP code. It is a general grouping for materials and the differences between materials with similar modifications are excluded. For example all C18 phases have the same USP column code.
What is USP pharmaceutical grade?
USP-designated ingredients meet or exceed standards of purity set by the United States Pharmacopeia making them the highest quality grade. Only prescription drugs are required to meet USP standards. However, all active ingredients in Vivant products (and many of the inactive ingredients as well) are USP grade.
Which USP is current?
The current version of USP–NF standards deemed official by USP are enforceable by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for medicines manufactured and marketed in the United States. The current version, USP–NF 2022, Issue 1, will become official on May 1, 2022.
What is a CN column?
A cyano column can be used when a highly hydrophobic compound cannot be eluted with a standard C18 and C8 column or a typical reversed-phase eluent. The normal phase column can replace the silica gel column, which has a fast equilibrium and is more consistent than the activity of the non-derivatized silica gel.
